Morning after pill effectiveness

Hi, I don’t want to appear insensitive posting on the conception thread as I’m well aware lots of people on here are here because they are hoping to be pregnant, so apologies in advance!
I had my coil removed in June due to low sex drive and moods, it was the right decision for us as a couple at the time, I had sex with my fiancé on Sunday morning and the condom failed, I am using natural cycles to track my fertility and my ovulation wasn’t expected for another week, so I wasn’t too worried, however something made me take an ovulation test which was a strong 2 lines, not quite positive, I couldn’t do anything on Sunday in terms of accessing the morning after pill, so went on Monday morning and took it then, on Monday I had a strong positive LH test, I’ve read online that the MAP won’t do anything once you’ve already ovulated but my understanding of LH is that it’s released before ovulation so if I had a positive LH i wouldn’t of already ovulated. So my question is, has anyone been in this situation and did the MAP work or fail?
for some background we have found it very easy to get pregnant with our 2DC and we were undecided about a 3rd which is why my fiancé hasn’t had a vasectomy yet, I’m aware I could access the copper coil but we would rather not and would be happy whatever the outcome, I suppose I just struggle with uncertainty and I like to be in control and know what to expect so l can be prepared.
sorry I appreciate this was very rambling, but any similar experiences welcome :)
