I’ve just discovered an actor from the 1940s and 50s called Randolph Scott. He was super famous then - understandably - but seems to be much less well known now. Well suffice it to say my ‘Bobby socks’ are well and truly blown off! What do we all think?

From days gone by...I have a list:

Montgomery Clift: check out this unbelievably handsome actor. He was gay, although that was suppressed in the Hollywood of the 50s. He and Liz Taylor were very close friends. He didn't have the happiest life and was in a car crash after which he needed a lot of plastic surgery.

Jeremy Brett: in his youth. He was known for playing Sherlock Holmes n the classic Granada TV production - and he was still gorgeous then - but as a young actor he was off the scale. Again, I was wasting my time fancying him because he was predominantly gay (although once married to Anna Massey).

Christopher Plummer: Cor! I do enjoy watching The Sound of Music on New Year's Day. He was so handsome. And apparently trained as a pianist before becoming an actor. Sigh.

Could go on - but I'm getting a hot flush, so will stop there.
