I’ve just discovered an actor from the 1940s and 50s called Randolph Scott. He was super famous then - understandably - but seems to be much less well known now. Well suffice it to say my ‘Bobby socks’ are well and truly blown off! What do we all think?

God yes, a young Marlon Brando has to qualify as one of the most handsome men to ever walk the earth.

Tom Hardy in the right role can look unbelievable, but then he ruins it with the unwashed probable dope smoker look he favours half the time. I’ve been rewatching Taboo recently though and fuck me he’s attractive in that.

Henry Cavill is probably the closest to the old matinee idol actors nowadays, though he looks better all messed up in The Witcher than in a suit - he’s almost so handsome it leaves you slightly cold.

Absolutely loving discovering all the other nominations. Gregory Peck maybe has the most mentions as probably the most stunning man who ever lived? He was the archetypal definition of the Matinee idol. Also Alain Delon and Paul Newman. They had that sexy insouciance and those irresistible blue grey take me to bed eyes of course.
