What job/career, that other people might aspire to, would you never want to do in a million years?

So I’m talking about jobs some people genuinely might aspire to.

What job would you hate doing?

For me I’m going to say social media “influencer”.

Would absolutely hate the pressure to stay relevant/ think of content and would not be happy to share pictures / details of my family and personal life to thousands of strangers. I don’t think I have a thick enough skin to stand the scrutiny / bullying. Really hoping my DC don’t want to choose this kind of career.

Wouldn't fancy any job like modelling which was so dependent on my looks either.

To be honest I wouldn’t want to be famous in any capacity.

I’ve also done sales jobs in the past and was rubbish at them as I didn’t want to persuade people to buy stuff!

Anything involving fame. Being perceived all the time would be unbearable for me.

Slaughterhouse person.

But to be fair how many people aspire to that? Pretty niche I’d say 🤣

Actor.

I have known a few in my time. One famous (ish) the others not so much (to put it kindly).

No way would I do that.

I have never met anyone who aspires to be a slaughterhouse worker.

And yet they do become one and then they so frequently abuse the poor animals and appear to enjoy their job.

To get back to aspirational jobs that you don't want I'd say a lot of the professions involve doing a lot of very boring repetitive work, interacting with the public and long hours and the only thing that makes them aspirational is the job security and money. So e.g. medicine, law, pharmacy, teaching.

Agree with astronaut as well, your chance of dying is so high. Same with mountaineer.

"but I still don't like the idea of most other jobs ."
Agreed. Most don't appeal to me.

Working for an oil or gas company.
Military.
Police.

The top one , utter bastards to work for and some colleagues the most devious backstabbing people you'll ever meet in your life.

Anything financial like an accountant or tax person because I'm so bad at maths. I have no interest in penny chasing and don't really care if the figures balance or not.

I would also hate being famous which is odd because I went to drama classes growing up and longed to be an actress. Now I've come to realise what hard work it is with long hours and only being as good as your last performance. I would hate everyone wanting a selfie with you just because they recognise you, not because they are a fan. Or taking a sly photo of you and publishing it.

Basically any job where I had to commute to an office every day (I had this conversation with someone yesterday when I got the train into the city in the morning)

It would feel so relentless getting out of the house early - plus you'd probably see the same faces on the train every time, pushing through the queues, worrying about being late, people around you coughing and farting.

This probably rules out a lot of professional jobs that people aspire to. Not for me!

Dentist ....don't want to be in peoples mouths who don't care for their teeth...
Anything to do with touching manky feet ...ugh

Anything involving bodily fluids

Yes, this. Which rules out medicine, dentistry and being a vet. I’d make a rubbish carer for the same reason.
