Waterproof recommendations for adults

The rain in the south west has soaked through 3 'waterproof' coats and 2 pairs of waterproof trousers (and 2 non waterproof pairs but that's to be expected!!). All from mountain warehouse, Berghaus and brands like that.

I cycle a lot so really need decent wet weather layers! Trousers and a coat. Or some decent rewaterproofer if anyone has any faith in that?

Genuinely have zero pairs of trousers left in my wardrobe, they're all on the airer having been soaked despite having waterproofs on!!!!

I've had a Didriksons coat for nearly 5 years that is still waterproof.

I've got a Berghaus too, and that was waterproof for about 18 months but has now gone caput (and I wore it last Monday and got soaked 🤦🏻‍♀️😂).

DS would also recommend North Face as he too has had a coat a good long while with no reduction in it's waterproofing abilities.

No idea if either of these brands do anything other than coats for you though OP.

Most waterproof jackets are only guaranteed fur a couple of years, but can be reroofed a few times.

There's new global legislation about not using PFCs in waterproofs. Waterproofs are going to become less effective and more expensive in the next few years because of it.

This might help
