Restaurant for 2 teenage girls in London

Hello

I am taking dd and her friend to see Mean Girls the musical in half term. The plan was to go to The Theatre Cafe for dinner after the show but that has now closed down! I know the food there wasn't the best but we were going there as it's something a bit different that isn't the usual chain type restaurants (prezzo, Bella italia etc).

Is there anything else in central London which is similar (but not bubba gumps, hard rock or rainforest cafe?)

We will be at The Savoy Theatre and travelling into London arriving at Kings Cross. Would like something different that won't break the bank please!!

Can't help but very interested in potential replies to this as I'm hoping to go see a show in the coming months, sorry to plonk on your thread!

I can't really think of anything like this really.

Dothey like sushi? Inamo in Covent Garden or Picadilly is quite fun. Your table is an interactive screen that you order from, you can watch the chefs in the kitchen via camera and play little games on it.

Sarastro?? Is a bit of an institution in the area

Alwaystired2023 · 08/10/2024 14:55

Look up Ave Mario - not far to travel and I think it will appeal to teens (v instagramable) food good and not super expensive

TwigTheWonderKid · 08/10/2024 14:59

Sarastro!

DryBiscuit · 08/10/2024 15:06

So you dont want chain restaurants and you dont want things like Hard Rock Cafe
But dont want it to expensive?

Thats going to be hard

How about
The real greek or Cote
Gourmet Burger
Franco Manca

But i guess they are all still chains

Rayna37 · 08/10/2024 15:20

Do they like American? Bodean's is a fun and tasty BBQ restaurant, my kids love it.

ODFOx · 08/10/2024 18:38

We used to love Chinese food in Chinatown before a show. Dim sum at lunchtime or something down the backstreet if the evening. Avoid the buffets at all cost. That said, it has been a few years, and is a treat for us as we live somewhere with no Chinese takeaway ( good or bad!).

mitogoshigg · 08/10/2024 18:39

What food do they like, mine liked comptoir libanese at that age, or Chinese in China town

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/10/2024 18:44

Kings Cross has a few places - Hoppers, Bao and Happy Face pizza could be possibilities. There's Dishoom too, but that would depend on queues.

TemuSpecialBuy · 08/10/2024 18:55

Sketch and Ave Mario are the first things that springs to mind.

inamo sushi if you want something cheaper…

TwigTheWonderKid · 08/10/2024 18:57

Hans and Gretel is a good shout. There are loads of fab food options at the market so you could get a decent burger or amazing pizza there before Hans and Gretel.

TheGoddessMinerva · 08/10/2024 19:48

Gordon Ramsay Street Burger always goes
down with my teenagers.
