Hi, what are people’s recommendations for a dashcam please? How much do I need to spend to get something half decent, and specifications I should look for? Want to get my young daughters one each (one has just passed her driving test) Is just a front one sufficient or should I get a rear one too? Anyone has experiences of one?

We use "Nextbase" cameras. They get good reviews. Front only for us.

Also consider where to mount them and the cost of mounting and whether you would do it yourself.

Absolutely get a rear one as well. Hopefully it’ll never be needed but it helped enormously when someone went into the back of us and left the scene.

Thanks for the input everyone, really helpful. The girls have a 09 plate Ford Fiesta so quite an old car, are they hard to install yourself or is it best left to the professionals? From what I understand they can be plugged into a cigarette lighter or hard wired into the car?
