I've got into a bad habit of scrolling. I was wondering about audio books or something.

I have a coffee then get on the walking pad for one hour whilst watching TV, washer is normally on the go as well

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 07/10/2024 20:42

I had a terrible habit of picking up my phone the second I woke up. I avoid this now by leaving it downstairs when I go up to bed.

Currently I am feeling very proud of myself because for the last few weeks I have been getting up 30m earlier and doing a quick YouTube workout (nothing too strenuous!) and I feel so much more awake in the mornings!!!

Great ideas. Some movement is always good.

Straight to coffee. If it’s a weekend and I have no immediate need to get up, I stay in bed reading and hope someone brings me coffee.

WeGoSlow · 07/10/2024 20:49

I always start the morning by walking the dog. It's the best part of the day.

LemongrassLollipop · 07/10/2024 20:50

Usually with a double footed kick from my wriggly son squirming around in my bed 😡

user1471453601 · 07/10/2024 21:16

I have a pee, my bladder is what wakes me up.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 07/10/2024 21:25

Straight downstairs at 6am to draw up meds for my little one, pop the kettle on and make sure I hit keep warm while I get all the syringes in order/draw up. Go up, switch his Tonie on, change LO's position, check for pressure areas, give meds, then back down, pop out to let the chickens out, get his breakfast out of the fridge to bring it up to room temp then make a quick coffee and sneak back to bed for 20 mins if I can.

Onand · 07/10/2024 21:38

Drink 1 pint of water with half lemon squeezed into it then allow 15 mins to digest

have breakfast with black coffee

vitamins with a pint of water

shower

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 07/10/2024 21:51

On workdays it’s up, pee, downstairs for a coffee and a quick check of the weather/my bank/the news/emails etc and then straight in the shower get ready and immediately out the door. I leave for work at 5.30am and so I don’t want to wake up any earlier than I have to.

Days off start with the clock radio waking me up so I listen to a bit of that and then read some of my book before my bladder cruelly evicts me from my comfy bed.

ExquisiteIyDecorated · 07/10/2024 22:02

Scroll for a bit (5-15 mins on weekdays, longer at the weekend), up, wee, feed cats, open the back door and stand there for a bit of fresh air, drink a cup of hot water or herbal tea. Get my packed lunch out of the fridge. A bit of exercise, either weights or light cardio to a video. Shower, dress, go to work.

Shodan · 07/10/2024 22:02

Pee.

Then feed cats, clean litter tray, switch on kettle and put pitta breads in the toaster for ds2's breakfast. Not necessarily in that order.

Make and drink tea.

Then back to the loo- am as regular as clockwork 😂

Holidayshopping · 07/10/2024 22:04

Get up, get dressed/washed, eat breakfast and out the door for work by 7.10. No time for scrolling or anything else really :(

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/10/2024 22:11

On a work day I am up at 6.50, feed cat and scoop litter tray, kettle on while he eats breakfast. Let him out, shower/makeup/dress/hair. Make a cup of tea for DP if he is WFH and up later. Cat in, eat breakfast, teeth, lipstick, out the door at about 8.15. Usually check emails and social media over breakfast.

I work four days so have a Wednesday off when usually DP goes into the office, and sorts the cat first. I will normally sleep in until about 10, and wake up with the cat in bed with me. Make tea, bring it back to bed and potter about on my phone for a bit before getting up properly. I love those slow mornings, especially on cold, rainy days.

Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice · 07/10/2024 22:16

I only stay in bed scrolling until the alarm snoozes have finished, so that's 7.05am.

A quick stretch, a load of washing on and a coffee in the garden before firing up the work laptop at around 7.30.

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 07/10/2024 22:24

I get up when l wake up...any time from 5am to 11am.
( Usually been for a wee @ 6 times already). Either let cat out or in.. depending what he's decides to do.
Take meds / cup of de caff tea.
Shower.. dry hair . If staying in put comfy lounge clothes on ... do any washing that needs doing... have some fruit... then brunch.
If going out.. bit of make up/ style hair.

Jellycatspyjamas · 07/10/2024 22:47

Up at 6, take the dog for a walk, come back for a cup of coffee which I drink in peace and quiet, then shower and get the kids up.

Fifthtimelucky · 07/10/2024 22:49

I generally wake up quite early (6ish) and am retired so have no need to get up then. I go to the loo and then spend an hour or so sitting up in bed on my iPad doing various puzzles (eg Wordle and Connections) and reading The Times online.

healthybychristmas · 07/10/2024 22:51

@Ratfinkstinkypink it sounds like you really have your work cut out. I hope your son is okay. There's nothing more worrying than having a child who is sick. Flowers

GiveUsACoffee · 07/10/2024 22:52

I meditate...
I try and spend around 15-20 minutes chanting mantras. Usually in the house, but if it's nice I'll walk and chant

Taytocrisps · 07/10/2024 22:56

Hit the snooze alarm a few times.
Feed DCats
Make coffee
Do the crossword

caringcarer · 07/10/2024 23:23

A cup of tea in bed.

okydokethen · 08/10/2024 07:57

Wee
Make coffee
Prep breakfast and packed lunches/school bags for kids
Walk dogs
Yoghurt fruit and vitamins while DS practises spellings with me
Shower
Cajoling DD to leave on time with DH
Take DS to school
Go to work
Or come home and jump back into bed for an hour or two on non working day

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 08/10/2024 08:00

Alarm at 6, take meds, scroll for 20mins or so until I'm allowed to eat (have to have them on an empty stomach), eat a banana in bed, get up, brush teeth, work out clothes on, go for either a run or a swim, shower, dress, go to work. Similar at the weekend except no alarm.
