Years of my life settling baby to sleep

Disclaimer: I'm not looking for advice, I just want a rant. I know all the tricks, white noise, co sleeping, darkness, wake windows, bouncing, dummies, cot warming, swaddles, reflux, cmpa, colic. I know it's normal, I know about the fourth trimester - just a rant!

My 11 week old (second DC) is easy as pie to settle for day naps. For night sleep it takes me literal HOURS to settle him. Hours. I get him to sleep and 10 minutes later his eyes snap back open and he's staring at me. Repeat unto infinity. Dear GOD it's frustrating. Gone are the sleepy early newborn days when he would happily just sleep on me in the evening whilst I watch netflix. Nope, he has to be in a dark room from 8pm while I endlessly bounce him or he goes apeshit.

Then when I eventually manage to get him down properly he's up in two hours absolute max.

Please post your stories of solidarity 😴😴😴

Mine are older now but I remember thinking exactly this. How many hours, weeks, months of my life have I spent standing in that room rocking them!

It sucks but you will come through the other side one day!
Actually my DC that was like yours - eyes fly open at anything - we had to do a bit of sleep training when she was 13 months. Far better after that.

Here we are again bouncing away, and the minute I stop...ping...eyes open.

Also why do I have the only EBF baby on earth who will not feed to sleep!!
