Secondary school preferences before contracts exchanged

Can anyone please advise me on what we do in this situation. We have had our house sale fall through and are therefore unable to buy in the area we want to live in before applications for secondary school close. We would be willing to rent but there is nothing at all on the market. How can I demonstrate to the LA that we have every intention of moving to the catchment area of our preferred school please? Thank you so much for any advice.

Unfortunately you have to apply from your current address. Some authorities will consider a new address if you move before early December. Otherwise if you move during the process you are treated like a late applicant.

You need to look at the rules for the area and see how they treat late applications because there is variation on this.
