Can a 17 week boy gender scan be wrong?

I had a gender scan yesterday which in one image, clearly shows boy parts. However, everything prior was pointing to girl, 2 nub readings, all the wives tales and a medium reading which I know could all be false but I can’t shake the feeling it might be a girl. I’ve included both my 13 week scan and a couple of the gender scans below. Any thoughts if the gender scan could be wrong. It was 17+2 by NHS dates and 16+6 by my dates?

Bless you op, you must be pretty flustered, asking if a scanned image could be wrong and a medium reading right is pretty left field even for Mumsnet.
It must feel really odd to know this is a little lad not the girl you've been taking to for the last three months but it's still your precious baby who will only want and need you. Maybe buy him something nice now you know who he is and even lay in a mum and son twin outfit for after he is born? Lots to enjoy and plan for now.

I do know somebody who had an amniocentesis that predicted the wrong sex though.

I mean it’s not 100% but if I was putting money on it, I know which evidence I’d rely on!

I never wanted to know the sex of my babies before they were born but my son was very obvious to me at my 20 week scan even without having any experience!

Your 20 week scan should definitely be able to confirm it.

I just wanna start preparing and stuff& 20 weeks is in a months time!!

None of what you did is an accurate gender test, the scan looks very much like a boy. I had very different pregnancies both times with two children the same sex, it doesn’t really mean anything.

It's super early you're causing yourself more stress and uncertainty just wait a few more weeks.
