Hi all!
Would love to hear your suggestions for 60th Wedding Anniversary gifts or celebrations for my parents.
We live in Herts/Essex.
FYI We have applied for the King’s Anniversary card.
Thank you very much in advance!

Fanhams Hall in Ware is beautiful and has private dining spaces so you could organise a big family meal there. When it was my parent's 40th wedding anniversary, we had them picked up from home in a stretch limo, which was a complete surprise, with the grandchildren already in the car. They loved it, especially my Mum who felt like a superstar when they got dropped off!

Sounds lovely @lightsandtunnels

I was going to say 'time together' rather than things.

Depending on budget and family make up etc - a weekend away together, or a meal for family and friends would be what I would go for.

I think if I wanted actual gift ideas as well, what about a month delivery of different cakes or something that is consumable rather than more 'stuff'

I would definitely agree with time together rather than things. I always say no presents when it's my birthday and would rather see my family; go on holiday, go for dinner that kind of thing. How about tickets to a favourite show or a big panto or something that everyone could go to and enjoy together? If they are foodies then a monthly cake or tea/coffee subscription might be nice too.

Mine didn’t want too much fuss and one of them is quite frail now as they are both mid-80s, they booked out a cafe and had afternoon tea with their friends, then a pub meal on a different day with immediate family (DB and I and our families, their siblings are all too old and too far away to travel). We had a cake made and did the King’s card, then a couple of small personalised gifts from Etsy relating to special places and dates. I also obtained a keepsake from the church they were married in.

My parents had their 60th Anniversary in September. We got them this Family Tree from Not on the High St. It's beautiful. Hand done in calligraphy writing. Mum and Dad at the top and children/grandchildren/great grandchildren following on down. Even put the grand-dogs on there! Showing everything that came from their marriage! They loved it it's really beautiful!

If you have photos of them throughout these years (pictures from their wedding day, photos taken during the first years of their marriage, travel or vacation pictures etc), you can make a wedding anniversary video with all of these photos. If there is a song that's special to them, add it in this video.
Or you can make a photo album or a photo book with their photos, and if there are old or damaged pictures, you can restore them and reprint, or even colorize the black and white ones.

Do they like theatre? Maybe get them tickets to the show they both would enjoy, or book a cafe and plan a nice dinner to celebrate. Also if they prefer an indoor celebration, there are some stay at home anniversary ideas (it was a list made during covid times, but it helped me several times since)
