Where did the fox go?

Drove to work this morning along a narrow country lane. There was a dead fox in the middle of the road. I stopped and moved it off the road. Drove past again less than an hour later and the body had gone. It's a quiet country road without too much traffic. Was definitely 100% dead too, so it's not like it could run off! Been wondering all day, open to ideas 😆🤣

Someone needs a practice project for their taxidermy class?

Some Vulture Culture person came along and swiped it?
Passing bin lorry crew chucked it in the back?

Council removed it? I know around here they clear dead deer etc.

Buzzard? They'll take carrion and could probably carry a fox. Also, as suggested above, Red Kite.
