I lease my car.
The lease company have notified me that they have paid a parking charge notice for my vehicle. The reason of issue is: Did not pay and display a prepaid voucher or place it in view.
i should not have received this parking charge as I paid for parking via a QR code using my phone and i could not print out a voucher to display as I was in the car park.
There were no signs to say that I should display a prepaid voucher. I have proof of payment in the form of a PDF generated from my bank account.
I have paid for parking via QR codes in other car parks but have never been asked to display a voucher in the window as proof of payment.
The lease company have told me to appeal to the issuer and if I am successful, they will reimburse the costs.
The problem is that I can’t appeal because they have paid the fine and the issuer believes that the case is now closed. I can’t complain to the issuer because to complain, I need to have followed the appeal procedure!
Any suggestions as to next steps? £60 plus administration costs when I paid for parking is extremely unfair.
