Leeds or nearby - dog friendly pubs with good food?

Wondering if anyone has any recommendations they could share. Visiting next Saturday with the dog. Friend recently moved to a flat in central Leeds and if the weather is decent we’d like a run out somewhere. Is Roundhay Park a good option for a walk with the dog?

Then somewhere nice to eat, not posh and preferably not a chain unless really good. I’m only there for the day though so would need to be somewhere that serves all afternoon as I’ll be gone by evening.

Also, any ideas if it’s a wet day would be great.

Thanks!

I would go to Otley - really nice for dog walking on the Chevin and loads of dog-friendly, non-chain pub choices.

Roundhay is lovely....Oakwood has very dog friendly pubs and places to eat also.Street Lane. Deer Park is good.

Thanks! I’ll have a look at Otley and I stumbled across Deer Park when I was googling and saw there appeared to be quite a few places to eat on that road so that’s handy to know.

Anyone else got any suggestions? Somewhere not too fancy to eat because we will be dressed for walking.

Any more ideas anyone? I’m sure there are loads of great places to go but it’s tricky if you don’t know the area and I don’t want to waste time on Saturday driving about - or risk going somewhere and finding out later there was a better place just round the corner!

Otley chevin - the royalty. There’s little walk maps about there. Very easy and much less people about than Roundhay.
