Staying in Stowe it’s lovely. We have a car. No children involved. We are thinking of going somewhere nice got a friends 40th if anyone knows the area?

Aside from the usual villages - Broadway, Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water - which are all lovely for a wander around/stop for lunch etc, Batsford Arboretum is worth a visit. Or a walk up to Broadway Tower is good for views.

Blenheim Palace, twilight spa at Cowley Manor if that's your sort of thing.

Damn I came on to say 'go to Daylesford!' 😂 But yes I always feel like I'm draining my life savings in there.

Bourton on the water is lovely, and has lots to do/see. We like Chipping Norton too.

Bourton, Broadway, Evesham, Worcester, Cheltenham? Some of the Cotswolds Way walk? Burford Garden Centre? There's a new place called Knead on the A417 which is supposed to be nice. Cheltenham has some nice parks (Pittville) and walks (Cleeve and Leckhampton Hill)

Dunkertons just outside Cheltenham is nice for drinks and has lots of different food pop ups. Room 131 also nice for a meal. Cotswold Wildlife Park?

Westonbirt Arboretum is good for walking about in.

Cheltenham Lit Festival is on right now (75th anniversary) so there will be lots on in town to do with that and the centre is slightly busier than usual. Otherwise others have already suggested the usual villages.

I can see why the rich and famous buy here as I reckon they are just left to get on with their lives. It’s all very beautiful but, is it me or is it all abit samey? The shops sell all the most beautiful things but every high street I’ve been down sells the same crafty things. They are like posh Oliver Bonus’s 😀 Food is magnificent I have to say.

Jeremy Clarkson’s filling station for lunch. Drool in the Robert Welch studio in Chipping Campden.
