Anyone found a way to deal with this kind of insomnia?

Developed a new and annoying type of insomnia that I think is perimenopause related. It's not like previous types where your brain is ticking over - I find guided meditations are good for dealing with that.

This type of insomnia I feel ready to drop off from the moment the lights are out, but I just cannot fall asleep, or I catch myself dropping off and usually I don't get to sleep until 4 or 5am and then only for about 2 hours. And annoyingly these nights seem to come two-in-a-row.

I've tried getting right up waking myself up and starting again, reading and all, tried my guided relaxation/meditations but it's always hours and hours before I can actually sleep.

Can't see why rhyme or reason to when they happen. I can go months without them, or have them a few weeks in a row.

Has anyone had this and found anything to help?
