Cold sore?

8 month old has this pimple on top lip which could be cold sore. Dad gets them. Mum doesn’t. What do you think?

It does look like it. My son had one I think around that age (from me ☹).

Ah I’m not sure how to handle it. I breastfeed him and he refuses bottle so I think I just have to sacrifice my self maybe getting them 😭 have contacted gp to see what they think.

Seems to change between looking like a pimple and then just looking like a mark… this is a few hours later. Then after I breast fed it looked like a pimple again and now the white spot has gone again 🤷🏻‍♀️ confusing

Looks like a pimple to me.

Not everybody can get them. I've been with my husband for many years and pretty sure I wasn't careful in the early days because I didn't know it was a cold sore, he's never had one. Also my sons older brother has never caught it off me and he had the same level of contact as my youngest.

But you could go to the GP to get it confirmed.

Update on this for future people. Something similar appeared on his cheek the next day and now on day 4 they are both completely healed so I’m putting it down to being pimples or just something else entirely.
