Can you give me examples of sayings which are 'down wid the dudes'?

Light hearted.

WhatsApp messages between mum and two daughters.

Two of us messaged at exactly the same time 'spill the beans/tea'.

And the argument ensued ....

Apparently 'spill the tea' (her) is correct as in 'spill the tea gurl' (daughter's spelling) and she insists she's correct and 'spill the beans' (me) is obsolete.

She (tongue in cheek) said 'I is right cos I is rizz'.

I have no idea what that means, but can you give me examples of cool dude sayings so that I can continue this conversation in the same manner?

We're discussing gen X, gen Z and millennials and I feel a bit lost.

I need to 'get down' with the new street parlance so that I can surprise them.

I kept a TikTok of a woman who had spent some time recently with teens, mine are both adults and do not do this type of talk.

She said Sigma = amazing,
gyat = female bottom,
Bet = yes
Whomp whomp = I don't care
Mums = I'm serious
Oooh brother, oooh = disgusting
I cooked = I did well
Fanum tax = Take food from someone
Let's dip = let's go (I have used this myself because it makes me smile)
Peak = really good or really bad
Rizz - charisma

When I looked up capping I don't think I got the right answer.

Is it something to do with the cost of electricity ?

My daughters are 30s and don't do this type of talking either.

It just came up today because of an updated version of spill the beans.

My daughter has just told me to stop because she's crying with laughter and nearly wet herself.

You have some good ones there - I'm going to use womp womp next - that'll set her off again.

Please use the “errrrr… brother errrr 🤢” one with her 😂

Ohio means really weird and not in a good way.

SpeculatingRooks · 04/10/2024 11:03

Ones from my teenagers

Peak - bad
Especially used when something bad happens to someone else e.g
"Jane and Jim's car broke down"
"Peak for them init"
Very bad: Bare Peak
Food: Scran, munch
Good: Slay, slay the day away
Understood the assignment

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 04/10/2024 11:04

@StolenChanel

Oh I daren't.

Bare peak - sounds fruity (in a 'oo er missus' kind of way).

Beamur · 04/10/2024 11:37

Rule of thumb with tweens/teens - all your slang of your own yoof makes you sound old.
We quite like err brother in this house. I only say these things as an ironic joke with DD and never outside the house 😁

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 04/10/2024 11:37

Hmmm - daughter says I sound disingenuous and I really need to stop now because she's cringing.

Seems I've taken it too far and crammed too many of them into the least amount of text.

I did try though ....

What's err brother?

Is it like bruh or bro?

yellowlazycat · 04/10/2024 11:40

Slaps = really good ‘That song slaps’.
Drip = stylish ‘He’s got the drip’.

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 04/10/2024 11:43

Drip was a word to describe someone who wasn't that intelligent.

I can't keep up with language change - I need to go back to school and learn it all again.

redtrain123 · 04/10/2024 11:44

Flippin eck. Fortunately, my young adults speak in pretty normal speak, or at least to me.

Wow, what a u-turn.

To be, if you said ‘he’s a drip’ ‘ he’s drippy’, it would mean he’s wet, slightly pathetic, a weak character, maybe a bit of a mummy’s boy.

Beamur · 04/10/2024 11:51

Err brother err - comes from a short video clip of a man giving a lecture or religious speech. It's just a short edit and sounds funny - so you just add it into your conversation instead of just saying 'err' - not sure it really means anything other than a shared knowledge of the clip.
A lot of these are from tiktok - it what vines grew up to be 😁

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 04/10/2024 11:56

Oh - so 'err bro/bruvver err' and just throw that into conversation?

Like when you have a pause in conversation and say 'erm' or 'um'?

OP posts:
Amumslife85 · 04/10/2024 12:02

Oh yes not forgetting" urgghhh brother urgghhh " we also use this alot...haha

TheDevilsTelephone · 04/10/2024 12:03

I use skibidi with abandon, purely because it amuses ds.
