Chef with sickness

We are going away with a group of school friends to celebrate collective 40ths this weekend. The DH of one of the group is a chef and kindly agreed to make a delicious 5 course meal tonight for everyone. Food is bought and prepped and now he is ill - there is a sickness bug going round the schools here and the entire family have it.

Another friend has offered to bring the food that has been prepped and we can cook it - but surely there is a sickness contamination risk….or am I worrying about nothing?

Would you eat it? I don’t want to be the complainer but equally, have had many years of sickness bugs spreading like wildfire through the family and would rather avoid it

No way on earth would I eat it !

I am emetophobic. But even so I don't think I would even if I wasn't.

If he’s a chef his standards of food hygiene and contamination are probably higher than most..

just to check - I’m assuming he’s not coming and the foods being passed on.. and you’re concerned as he touched the food days ago?

It wouldn’t even cross my mind as an issue… and even if it did - you know what happens when you cook/heat food right?

Won't the food be cooked at the venue? I can't see any issues personally.

So he's not coming? The food will just be picked up from their house, and cooked at wherever you're staying? Is that right?

I'd think anything you're cooking through will be fine.

I wouldn’t but am also on the phobic side of things where sickness bugs are concerned 🙁
