Lymecycline + epiduo

Mums of teenage boys with cystic acne - when did you start noticing a difference with Lymecycline? My 16 years old son had an awful acne breakout in the last couple of months and he's been using epiduo which has seemed to make it worse rather than better. The gp has prescribed him Lymecycline and he's been on it for 2 weeks now. I could really do with success stories right now. Thanks

My teenage son was 16 / 17 when he started on it and it really made a big difference but I think it did take a month to start seeing benefit (from memory) then it's steadily got better. Now he just uses a medicated face wash (i forget then name) and it's nice and clear

The lymecycline takes a bit longer to start working in my experience. We did see some improvement but it came back when medication was stopped. My ds just lives with the acne now and ignores it. I am sympathetic but also irritated that he won't do more to help himself (e.g. cleansing routine).

Thank you so much for your reply. It gives me hope. It's so hard seeing him plagued with acne when he just started to find hus confidence 😥
