Pregnant again following ectopic

Jojow999 · 03/10/2024 19:30

Hello
In January I had an ectopic pregnancy that was treated with medication.
I am now 4+5. I have an early scan booked in for 6 weeks.
I'm experiencing little twinges and niggles in the ectopic side.
The pain I'm feeling now is absolutely nothing to what I experienced before. I'm not sure if it's just worry, to be expected or the start of another ectopic.
Did anyone else experience this but went on to have a normal pregnancy

Hi Jojow999.
Just wondering how you're getting along?
In a similar situation - ectopic in February but I'm now nearly 5 weeks. Feeling some twinges and getting paranoid.

I hope you had positive results!

Well not good news I'm afraid, hope the outcome is different for you. I had little twinges on the right side but strangley it ended up being on the left side this time and ruptured. Completely different symptoms this time. This pregnancy seemed to be going well, I felt pregnant. Last time I had undeniable symptoms by week 4.5. I got to 6.4 this time without pain. First clue was low rising hcg 4 days ago.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope you're keeping strong.
I have a 6 week scan on the 28th. The wait is killing me. Fertility nurse said there's a high chance that it will be ectopic because of scar tissue and abrasions after a pelvic surgery nearly 20 years ago. Crossing everything, hoping she's wrong!

Can you get your HCG done before this? Apparently GPs do it but who knows if you will get them done before the 28th. My HCG gave me a good indication that it was ectopic before the scans. I feel like waiting 6 weeks for the scan is too long when you have previous history, bloods should be started straight away. At 5.5 weeks my HCG was 440 so I knew something wasn't right

@Jojow999 how are you coping? I hope you’re okay. It’s so hard when the statistics are in your favour but you keep drawing the short straw.

I had an ectopic in feb and found out I was pregnant again a few days ago. A complete shock as I have infertility and this was a natural conception whilst waiting for further investigation’s from my ectopic (they think endo). My ectopic last time was very obvious to me but was still a very long drawn out process and I was in quite a lot of discomfort the entire time. They never found the pregnancy but I’m positive it was in my left tube. I had a dull persistent throbbing ache in my left pelvic area which radiated into my back. Weirdly I ovulated from my right so I have no idea how it got into my left tube. Thankfully it self resolved but I most likely have a damaged or partially blocked tube from that ectopic. It’s only been a couple of months so my concern is I haven’t healed and have probably got a little embaby stuck in the same side again 😞 I’m having the exact same pain localised in my left side again. Hoping it’s just scar tissue stretching but it’s wishful thinking. I won’t know for a few weeks because unfortunately for me I found out I was pregnant at 3 weeks 2 days (9dpo).

please update if you can ❤️

Hello,
I'm not quite sure what kind of update you are looking for?

Just how you are doing after your ordeal? I hope you’re okay.

how was your ectopic treated? Like I mentioned above. I’m presenting with similar pain on the same side. Feels almost identical so even though I’m hoping for the best, I’m expecting a similar outcome.

@Ladybug320
Hope this will bring you some hope or positivity...
I had pain and twinges on the ectopic side before my 6 weeks scan. It wasn't as painful as the ectopic but still, it was causing a lot of anxiety! Turns out it had implanted on the other side and I'm now 33 weeks pregnant! 😊 Crossing everything for you!

@LisaBer thank you, congratulations! I’ve had quite bad pain today and had to visit EPU. They took my blood. It was 25.4 last week at 10dpo! So 4 days before my missed period. There’s a few things different this time but the pain is the same, also the weird rectal discomfort which is a concern too!

not long to go until you meet your little one! 🤞🏻
