Best doorbell/back garden camera system

There's been a few break-ins in our area recently, so along with other security measures I'm thinking about a ring doorbell or similar.

I'm thinking that I'll need:

  • camera at the front - either doorbell or positioned looking out from bay window
  • camera at the back
  • means of alerting of movement via phone
  • able to view real-time & recorded footage

Any recommendations for a good system? I thought about the ring doorbell system, especially if it's reduced in the Amazon event next week - but are they any good?

We have ring cameras. They're fine. I don't know what makes them any better or worse than any other brand.

Do you need to pay a subscription to save footage?

I tried a security camera indoors looking out througha window but found that at night, when it switched to the infra red light, it just reflected off the glass and you couldn't see anything! So I had to have it mounted outside.

The subscription is about £4/5 a month

Thanks all - can anyone give me an idea of what I need - just the doorbell & some kind of subscription? Can I get a separate camera for the back that will link up with the ring doorbell subscription?

I have Eufy cameras - a doorbell / camera, front garden camera and back garden camera. All wireless, and on an app on my phone which notifies movement (but you can set it to ignore pets, birds etc.)

No monthly subscription. You can buy on amazon.
