My throat is killing me, it keeps sharply contracting . Which is making me rench and chuck up. Keep almost peeing myself when that happens. My head is really hurting . I got to get the kids to school on 2 buses there and back which will be packed/busy.

Taxi does not work . As i will cough and chuck up in the car

Well you can’t get the bus if you’re throwing up either. Can someone else take them today?

comedycentral · 01/10/2024 07:07

Can you ask someone to help? Their other parent/grandparents a friend?

Silvertulips · 01/10/2024 07:08

Keep them off school for the day.

Sometimes you just need to look after yourself.

If you can't get them to school then you can't get them there. Definitely don't leave the house if you are vomiting unless getting to the gp

MissMeMiss · 01/10/2024 07:12

So what is your plan op.....youve said 'I can't' to all suggestions so far...

Sort of. I can meet my oldest dd at the bus stop and put my kids on the bus with her . But I hate doing that . Because she stresses them out. One is autistic and he does not cope well around her if on his own. That's a whole different thread though.

You can't get a taxi because you'll vomit, therefore you can't take the bus because you'll vomit. If you have no one who can take the children to school for you you will have to keep them off today. The fact they were off last week is immaterial. Sounds like a nasty bug - you shouldn't be spreading it around.

Unfortunately, when you are ill, you have to just make do. If you can't get a taxi then you need your eldest DD to take them and the kids will need to suck it up I'm afraid. That or you keep them off. I personally would make every effort to get them school so I can rest and recoup though.

AnnieLewis · 01/10/2024 07:18

So keep them home. My kids have been off for three days last week with a virus and half the class have been off at some point since the start of term. If you can't get them there that's how it will have to be. Are they both in mainstream? Call school and explain if you need to.
Sounds like you need childcare anyway to get to a doc to sort out what's going on with your throat though. Hope you feel better soon.

Quitelikeit · 01/10/2024 07:20

Why not see if you feel better later?

I would hate to be on a bus with you though spreading your virus!

That's what I'm sort of thinking . I'm torn between then sucking lt up with dd on the bus. I keeping them off for one day . Hoping a day of pain killers and hoping they kick in and it's not as bad tomorrow.

Lol

pilates · 01/10/2024 07:26

In your shoes I would get eldest DD to help out. It would be better for you too to get well at home on your own. Can she do the pick up too?

Ghostyghost · 01/10/2024 07:41

I just put them on the bus with dd. Hopefully be fine.

Sometimes we just need to get on with things for the sake of our kids. Good luck!

Startinganew32 · 01/10/2024 07:51

How will they get home from school? Hope you can get some rest today.
