Hello, i am looking ideas for a nice interactive day out for my babys First birthday, for us and the grandparents. Fully aware this is more for us to make memories then for our baby! Date would be mid to end of November.

We're hertfordshire based, but happy to travel around 90 minutes. We've all been saving up for a big family day out centred around the baby, as we dont get to see eachother often so we're flexible on cost too.

i've been looking at CBBC land, Pepper pig land, safari. Twist museum London, Let me know of any ideas that would be suitable for a baby this young!

Thank you s muchx

An aquarium? They tend to like the lights and the different colours. It will be warm and inside!

Willers Mill at Shepreth (just inside Cambs).

Aardvarks, otters and capybaras. What more could you want? Oh, and bats too.

(Edited to remove rogue flying apostrophe).

Whipsnade, Dunstable Downs, London Zoo, London Aquarium, Center Paris

Center Parcs, not Paris!'

I would do something more like the aquarium or one of those visual experience exhibitions instead of Peppa land or the like for a 1 year old! Might as well make it enjoyable for the adults.

Aquarium
Butterfly Farm
Zoo

Leave the theme parks til they're older; they'll get so much more out of it

There is a mini zoo in Broxbourne that might be close to you?

reluctantbrit · 30/09/2024 19:52

Leave the theme parks until they can actually go on any rides and will recognise the characters. Put the money aside for these in 2-3 years.

A zoo, farm or aquarium is a good idea.

Sounds like you want something “big”

willow farm is a classic
aquarium is also a good choice

lower key options

Mill Hill has a farm soft play that is cute you can do soft play then feed the animals…

any shows and classes at chicken shed

Ladybird soft play cafe is for under 5s which is lovely
