Does anyone else get this.

My throats starts of by feeling dry for a day or so . Then it feels like sandpaper.

The thing that really bothers me is my throat will suddenly contract without warning and really sharply . It feels like glass in a raw wound. My eyes start watering, my throat keeps contracting. My gag reflex gos on a mad one . And I end up being sick. On top of this on trying not to pee myself. And it's so embarrassing. And this hapoend at a train station today.

Also whilst I'm talking about peeing . Is there anywhere that does incontinence pads wing wings ?

Um doesn't sound normal. Maybe go to the doctor

I occasionally, and out of nowhere, get a similar thing. Like a little dry cough and a really sharp painful throat. I just keep on coughing and my eyes water like hell. Takes about 10 minutes to get over and makes me look like a right wally.

No gagging or weeing though.

OP, yes, get this! It's such a pain. The best relief I've found is to carry around some cough sweets (say, Halls) as the act of sucking these seems to lubricate your throat. Any drink or food is likely to help.

Ooh, I've had this in the past. It's like something catches in my throat or like some food's gone down the wrong pipe, except I've not eaten.

I'm not sure what it is either. One thing I found helpful was to try and breathe in through my mouth through thick material - it somehow helps to open my throat again (enough to breathe in enough to have a proper cough and hopefully clear whatever it is).

Out of interest, do you smoke?

(asking because since I gave up, this hasn't happened to me)
