Bed mattress recommendations

We need a new mattress for our King sized bed. Currently we have one by Salus. It's 8 years old. It's lovely and comfy, but you can't turn it over, only around.

We went to choose a new mattress the other day but were overwhelmed. there were about 40 to look at, lay on etc.

Husband likes a firm mattress, but I prefer medium.

Any recommendations?

Budget would be around £800.

Anyone got a Tempur mattress?

I can't go past Ikea mattresses they're so comfortable.

I have the VÃ…GSTRANDA and it's the comfiest mattress I've slept on. It's advertised as firm but in my opinion it's between firm and medium.

I have the VESTERÖY in the spare room and that's also very comfortable

DP just changed is year old mattress to an Ikea one after sleeping on mine and loves it. There's lots of options and they're out in store to try

No, I didn't get any further with this as we were decorating the room and sleeping in the spare bed, then we went on holiday. We've only just gone back in our own room.
On holiday the mattress was definitely firm and we didn't like it. I think we're going to try the Tempur mattress, but it looks like the Ikea ones are recommended so will go and have a look.

Sleep Soul Bliss.

Not too soft and not too firm, just perfect. Has a memory foam layer and it doesn’t feel hot (I’m perimenopausal).

When I lay down on my bed the mattress is supporting my body where it should but also adjusting to my shape.
Had a few friends staying over they all said it’s very comfy.

Have 3 of them, everybody sleeps like a log

We've just ordered a Premier Inn mattress made by Silentnight:

British made and sustaiinable. Natural materials.

I checked out the labels in a very smart holiday apartment and bought the same.

I have the no turn mattress. I bought a display model from a local, independent bed shop. Saved some money.

EBay sometimes have them as returns/display models through John Lewis.

My DH prefers a harder mattress and me a medium so we compromised, we have a hard orthopaedic mattress and a bamboo thick mattress topper - it's like sleeping on a cloud!
I didn't like the full tempura mattress as it was too enveloping - the thick topper was great on a hard spring mattress

We generally buy John Ryan artisan beds after reading a recommendation on here. They have a comfort guarantee and you can return for free if you don't like them. Would recommend.

also looking for a new mattress. They have refurbished ones on bensons beds so eyeing those up. Budget up to £500 as I’ll just get a cheap divan base.
i bought my son a very cheap divan about ten years ago, still going strong
he wanted silver crushed velvet and that’s what he got!

Also, if anyone is looking at an ikea one, check out bargain corner first as they usually have a few in there
