Any advice on how to get rid of the smell?

It's supposed to be one of our DCs bedrooms but it's smells awful! It's rented. I mentioned it to the landlord. But not much he can do.

Amy advice please?

Wash the walls and ceiling with a vinegar and water solution, hire a carpet cleaner for the carpet and wash the curtains if you can. Open the windows as much as possible....

Sugar soap also might help, do everything, skirting, doors and ceiling as well as walls. Change curtains and deep clean the carpet.

Open windows as pp says.

can you paint it?
I would do all as above, cleanign walls, carpet and curtains, and if possibel I would stick a coat of paint on the walls.

The smell is most likely in the carpet though, that is the most important one to clean.

Tell me if the walls are grey painted. Exterior paint smells of cigarettes on internal walls.. Obviously the cleaning ideas given already will probably be the answer..

There's a smoke bomb thing garages can buy to put in cars for sale that stops them smelling like fags. Maybe you could google this and get a couple for that room?

Thanks all! I forgot I wrote this post 🤣

It's newly painted and new carpet. No curtains! I asked the inventory clerk and he agreed it smelt.

I will try looking for the bomb thing.

Thank you!

Apparently hire an ozone machine if it really bad

I had this at my last house and it is awful to get rid of (impossible for me despite decorating and new carpets)
