Hi guys,
I have felt run down with various different symptoms for quite some time. I had an NHS blood test done and GP says all my results are within normal range. However, I cant help but feel my Iron & B12 could be slightly
higher as they seem to be on the lower end of normal.
What is your opinion and should I just start taking an iron supplement anyway?
TIA

Yes, I would take iron and B12. It’s on the lower end of normal but our levels aren’t static. They do fluctuate and it’s possible they could go lower. It’s worth a try to improve your symptoms. Have they tested your vitamin D as well? When my vitamin D was low, but just on the cusp of being deficient, it’s truly the most unwell I’ve ever felt in my life. I was sure I had cancer and was dying. (I actually currently have cancer and I don’t feel as ill as I felt with low normal vitamin D!)

Your ferritin needs to be at least 70 for healthy hair growth so yes, you do need to take iron.

No idea about B12 but it certainly won't harm you if you try and boost it up more.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll get on the iron :-)

Thanks for the reply! I’ll deffo look into a good iron supplement and have already had 1 b12 injection, along with eating better.
I haven’t had my Vit D levels checked - not sure if that’s something that would be picked up on in a full blood count?
sending healing hugs 💛
