Hi

last year I had a full blood test. Liver function good, MCV over 100. Doctors said fine.

just had same again as am exhausted all the time. this time MCV levels the same but didn’t include liver so having tomorrow. Doc requested due to much being high.

what is likelyhood liver levels have gone 0-100 bad in a year? Am scaring myself stupid with doctor google. I am a heavy drinker 3/ 4 bottles of wine a week. I know this is crqp, please don’t judge me on this.

I'm not sure, but if you don't get many responses there is an alcohol support board on here too. How old are you?

I have MCV that hovers around 100. Sometimes it’s 98, sometimes 103. It’s always been this way. I’ve been told it’s just the way my body makes red blood cells. MCV is just a measure of the size of your red blood cells, in simplest terms.

I really wouldn’t panic about your liver tests results. Realistically, 3-4 bottles of wine a week, while more than ideal, is probably what many to most adult women of a certain age drink in a week. It’s in the range of social binge drinking. You are unlikely to have abnormal liver results if that really is the amount you are drinking.

I have had abnormal liver tests, but it took drinking considerably more than that on a daily basis. My blood tests are totally normal now that I stopped drinking (18 months sober). They were completely normal within 4 weeks of stopping. The liver is incredibly resilient.

But if you are worried about your drinking, do address that. Honestly, it will be contributing to your anxiety.
