Help me choose a new car please

Does anyone drive a self-charging hybrid car?

I am looking to change my current car to a new one under the PCP scheme.

I am about to quadruple the amount of driving I need to do monthly so thought a hybrid would be a better option fuel wise.

I need to be able to fit 2 car seats comfortably into the back, space for a third would be a bonus.

Does anyone have a self-charging hybrid they’d recommend?

all recommendations welcome.

I'd caution you to look carefully at the range of the combined tank and battery - I love my Mini Countryman hybrid and the fuel efficiency isn't bad, but I have to fill up a lot, which if you're doing a lot of miles would be a pain.

I'd recommend a plug in hybrid as you've always got plugging it in (at home overnight or to a proper charger) as a backup option.

We have a Toyota CH-R, which is self charging. It does about 75 mpg. I don’t know how it would work for car seats though.

I have just bought a self charging hybrid Yaris Cross on PCP.
I love it. I assume it fits 2 car seats, not sure about a 3rd!

How much do you pay a month and how much deposit was needed? Hoping to trade my old car in to pay for the deposit!

DP is a mechanic. We both have Toyota Corolla hybrids (mine hatchback, his estate). We love them. Cannot recommend toyota enough, particularly the corolla. We have x2 car seats with isofix bases, fit perfectly in both. The boot on the estate is brilliant for prams and shopping, I have to admit the hatchback boot is on the smaller side. Great on fuel and reliable. Also extremely comfortable to drive.

I chose the Excel design (not the basic one) & some fancy extras.
I was upgrading from a “normal” Yaris, so there was some money in that, I paid £3k deposit on top & £360 a month.

I would look at used cars at Toyota Garages - they will give you 10 year guarantee too. DP has RAV4 self charging hybrid & it’s great, but eye watering cost new!

I’d love a RAV4!

I assume so! I would find your local Toyota garage!
