Ideas for 80th birthday

Hi.

After many years of buying presents I'm out of ideas.

My stepfather is 80 on Monday. He buys anything he wants when he wants it which makes gift buying difficult.

He likes dark chocolate so I have bought some 80% cocoa bars, and will get an £80 book token.

After that I'm stuck.

Can anyone think of anything else with the theme of 80?

He generally likes wine, books and holidays.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Historic Newspapers offers various bottles of wine, champagne, port etc boxed with a newspaper of a relevant date, but I'm not sure you would get it by Monday.

A really pretty notebook and then everyone close to him writes their favourite memory. Mil got this for her 90th ans she treasured it.

We took FIl for a trip down memory lane. He grew up a little bit away so we booked a hotel and let him direct/tell us about his youth, show us where his school had been, his first job, the factory site his father worked, the fields he went fruit picking in as a summer job etc. We had dinner and good wine that evening then fish and chips on the sea wall for lunch the following day just like when he took DH as a child. We took a family picture by the sea and had it framed for him.

That is a lovely idea. He has started looking back at his past recently. I can do a notecard with ideas.

The notebook would have been great but we are a very small family and most friends are no longer with us unfortunately.
