Why should I care?

I'm not depressed in fact I'm in a very good state of mind at the moment, and I know this because I have been clinically depressed before. But I just don't care about anything. I don't care about work, home, family, friends, politics, any of it. If someone were to come up to me and say the King has died and Donald Trump was now master of the universe It wouldn't register. Why?

I think what you are describing is called apathy, some antidepressants are designed to make a person feel like this so they can cope with everyday life.

Definitely apathy. Are you burned out from stress/work? Perhaps feelings a lack of purpose? General disillusionment?
