Overlooked Garden

I don't like my garden, lack of privacy overlooked, terrace house.
Any ideas how to improve it ?
I hardly spend time in it or make it nicer for this reason.

How high is it overlooked from? Can you put up decorative screens? Fast growing tree? Or just go in it anyway? I overlook my neighbours and can see right into their garden. I actually spend very little time seeing into their yard. Your neighbours are probably not that interested and get glimpses at best.

Maybe true, but I just feel so close when outside.

How about putting up a pergola, or one of those garden sails? I expect they are going cheap at the moment, seeing as summer is just over.

Is a Pergola better than an Awning?

Pleached trees?
They can eventually trimmed into a hedge like structure- but above the fence line if preferred.

I think a pergola is more lasting - you can train climbing plants over it such as grape vines or clematis.
