What has helped you sleep better?

Apart from good sleep hygiene, what have you found that has improved your quality of sleep or stopped you getting up as many times in the night?

I wake up about 3 times in the night, I think little noises must wake me up even though I sleep with ear plugs. I don’t think I sleep deeply enough and always wake up tired. Sometimes I wake up at 3am and then can’t get back to sleep. I already have good sleep hygiene. Has anyone tried magnesium or cbd or anything else that has helped them?

I also really have to manage my fluid intake.

Too little through the day and I'm dehydrated which can lead to constipation

Too much too late in the day and I'm up in the night.

It's best to drink in the morning and taper off in the afternoon I find.

20mg of Amitriptyline. Life changing.
Career insomniac. No more than 5 hours a night from 30-55yrs.

Tried milky drinks, baths, herbal tea, no phones, sleep podcasts , melatonin, HRT - great for so mMirtazapine (works but MASSIVE weight gain as primary use is to stimulate appetite in elderly) Amitriptyline is the only thing that has no side effects and keeps me asleep all night. It's a different world.

Magnesium here but at a decent strength. Better you sprays are good for me, creams are often lower strength

I've used CBD if the waking is due to anxiety or stress but for general waking it didn't seem to make a difference

HRT. I take Phenergan if I've had a bad night the night before, it allows me to sleep all night instead of waking anywhere from 4-6am. Never had an issue with sleep unless pregnant until PeriMeno reared it's ugly head.

I take magnesium too, go to the gym 5x a week. Sex does also help with sleep.
