Is anyone else a bit addicted to Vinted?! Even if I’m not managing to sell much putting stuff on there makes me feel like I’m at least having a clear out?!

Totally addicted! Have been buying on there for a couple of years, just started selling on there and made £200 in the first week.

Most of it was bought from there in the first place. Have lost lots of weight, so selling a coat that's too big and then buying one that fits, I'm just recycling really!

Yes it's fab!

Just a word of warning all
I've also just recently discovered Vinted and have purchased some lovely boots , slippers , scarf and some new toiletries- all good

A bag arrives - supposed to be Marc Jacob's , new without tags which I paid £70 for - it's so obviously a £10 market job , I'm fuming and have followed the advice given by Vinted in regards to raising a dispute

I'll be so much more careful moving forward now

I bought some perfume off there last week which was a fake. I was gutted. Followed the process to send it back for a refund. It's back in the parcel locker waiting for the seller to pick it up and I'm anxiously awaiting my refund. Has made me very wary going forward...

Same @NormaLouiseBates .

It had never occurred to me this was a possibility, definitely feeling a bit silly and will be more careful in future - put me off buying anything at all now

I am! I have had some lovely items from there and do the vast majority of my clothes shopping there now.

Yoy do have to be careful - there are a lot of obvious scammers and some less obvious, and some unreliable/dishonest sellers. But if you know what to look for it's great!

(I also have seen a recent trend of stupid and dishonest sellers - items listed as New Without Tags with a description saying 'only worn twice'! I just avoid those!)

But I have had very, very few disappointments out of hundreds of purchases.

TodayThisName · 27/09/2024 09:30

Having said that, I still use eBay and Paypal for most more expensive purchases, as their buyer protection is much more reliable in case of issues.

Always check the seller profile and reviews before you buy.

I received an empty package this week and then got a load of abuse from the seller causing me a thief and a liar.

They sent 7 messages in ten minutes. apparently it had been a gift from their parents and they were devastated and the final one was ‘please just let this go’.

I advised them to take it up with the courier and they went very quiet so assume they are trying that route now.

They had no reviews which should have put me off initially, but then how is anyone new and genuine going to get reviews if no-one will buy from them in case they are scammers?

Vinted upheld my claim, luckily I have plenty good reviews & feedback - buy and sell regularly with no issues - and are now in the process of refunding me, although for some reason it’s taking 5 days to release the cash.

I generally do think Vinted is good and have had some great purchases but I do think you have to be careful - for buying and selling over £30 I’d probably go with Ebay.

Me too... I felt very naive and a bit embarrassed. I've sold perfume on there before myself so it never occurred to me that it could be a fake 😳 I just hope I do get my money back... the seller has to confirm that I've sent it back okay but what if they're a liar as well as an arsehole and say I've sent back an empty box or something? I wouldn't be able to prove anything 😭
