I would love to study hairdressing

I am in my 40s and I think I would love to study hairdressing. Any body ever do anything like this? Go back to college as an older adult? Also are there any part time courses or online courses or mixed based courses.

I've done similar. For hairdressing an online or blended course is not great, because you really need proper direction in person.

To work as a hairdresser the minimum you need is the ofqual level 2 diploma (either VTCT or city & guilds). You'll almost certainly be able to find a college that offers this part time, and it's intake time at the moment so if you're serious about it call them up and get started! Good luck.

Most enjoyable and creatively rewarding job I ever had (but physically exhausting). I wish I had stayed in the industry but moved somehow into theatrical/historic hairstyling. Go for it!
