How to make new friends…

I seem to be at that stage (45) where I’m finding it hard to make new friends.
I work from home, and don’t really have any interest in hobbies.
My kids are older and so “mum friends” at the school run isn’t so simple.
I’d love to find some ‘couple friends’ for my husband and I but don’t know where to start.
Am feeling so lonely.

Have you tried the local pub? We have a few very welcoming ones around here, the sort you go in and make friends very quickly.

No, it’s not like that where I live unfortunately, but that would be ideal!

I hear you @Sunseasand1 it's so hard as adults to make friends. I've just relocated to a whole new place and feeling very lost here. Things that have helped have been joining a choir, going to a knit and natter group, starting exercise classes, and we're going to go to a board games night together in a few weeks, I also joined a book club but haven't been yet. I haven't made any friends as such, more people I'm chatty to, but it's only been a few months and it's helped me feel less alone at home.

I’m the same. I joined the gym thinking that that would propel some friendships.

We need to separate by area and set up a nice coffee morning. ❤️ I’m in Manchester ❤️
