I have a reminder in my phone for swoop alert and I have no idea what I was trying to say as it wasn't that!

So the words are "swoop alert", yes?

If yes, are you fairly sure "alert" is correct, that is, do you often put "xxxx alert" as a reminder?

If so, it's just a matter of guessing what was autocorrected to "swoop". (Just, ha!)

Alert could be right but I'm not 100%. Swoop is definitely wrong and it was something I really needed to right down.

You might be better turning off autocorrect altogether in future, if possible. It's probably easier to work out what a misspelled word should be than an autocorrected word.

Autocorrect will have taken two or more letters from the word you typed and turned it into "swoop".

It could be shop, or swap, or sweep, or ship, or sweet, or any number of other words. It might not even start with a letter s at all, depending on the system it uses.

I'll google how to turn off. Sounds like I need it given how many times this has happened! Thanks!

Were you about to have your chimneys swept?!

No but that might be fun!
