Help me with Kylie concert, getting to the loo!

So this is a bit random…I really want to try to get tickets for Kylie Minogue when they go on pre-sale in the morning for either Newcastle or Glasgow BUT I’ve never been to a concert before. I have terrible problems with needing to pee all the f’ing time. Will I be able to get to the toilet at least once in the evening, or will I be stuck the whole time? This is really stressing me out and will likely make the difference to whether I try to get tickets or not. 🙄

If you get seats and choose end of a row you can get out but warning, queues can be long!

theferry · 24/09/2024 23:04

@mitogoshigg thank you! So I should be able to choose the seats? Will it be obvious which are at the end of a row when I’m buying? I’m a complete newbie at this.

Yes should be obvious when choosing the area you want to sit in. Or they sometimes do standing. Toilets at Newcastle are fine. They're everywhere. Go when a songs on and the queues are minimal

You can get a good idea by searching the venues and looking at pics of the interior etc now. You can also look at big concerts in the that have tickets on sale to see the setting plan and it gives you an idea of what you might see when ticket go onsale - not always identical, but either a gander anyway

theferry · 24/09/2024 23:13

@Willyoushutthefrontdoor thank you. That’s made me feel a bit happier. Honestly, it’s ridiculous that I plan my time around when I can get to a toilet.

We love music concerts. I'm 51 with 3 kids. My bladder agrees with you

theferry · 24/09/2024 23:20

Thanks @kenidorm I didn’t think about doing that.

@Willyoushutthefrontdoor im 48, had this since DD2 was born. Drives me mad! 😡

Even if you're not on the end of a row, people will always let you out to the loo. I was at Taylor recently and people were constantly popping off to the loo.Totally normal. And no queues usually if you go when the show is on.

Turmerictolly · 24/09/2024 23:38

Maybe wear a Tena pad for reassurance?

Comefromaway · 25/09/2024 10:26

Did you get them. I got into the site easily but every time I selected seats it told mne someone already had them. It wouldn;t just allocate me two in the specified price range!

Luckily I realised I had an Amex card so got in via them but the Amex tickets were in a more expensive area than I'd really wanted to pay.

Oh well, happy Birthday dh! (He's the Kylie fan). He has bladder problems too and we have been to many concerts.

theferry · 25/09/2024 13:56

Yes, I got the two tickets for DD and I. So excited!

I went to see Taylor at Wembley in the summer and was similarly fretting about this. We had standing tickets. It ruined it slightly because I couldn’t get excited about it with worrying so much and didn’t drink anything all day. I needn’t have. There was space and access to the toilets. It was actually fine.

What I hadn’t accounted for though, was outside the stadium you couldn’t get anywhere - the traffic was at a standstill - and no where was open to use the loo. Even the McDonald’s had closed them. As soon as we got out I was raging with thirst and had a bottle of water which I immediately regretted. Thankfully I was able to hold but it was a good 2 hours from leaving the stadium until we got back to the hotel.

More show dates been added ……for presale at 1pm today if you missed out……I’ve just got 2 for Manchester

OP here. Just thought I’d update. I saw Kylie last night and it was amazing. Since posting, I got so fed up of always needing the loo. I was needing to wee every hour.. In my desperation, I tried the Jude supplement. I was doubtful, but was willing to give it a go if it meant I could leave the house without panicking about whether I’ll be able to get to a toilet. Anyway, it’s been transformational. I didn’t need the loo at all for the concert. I went 4 hours between toilet visits, which was impossible before taking Jude.

I’m there tomorrow.

theferry · 18/05/2025 18:37

@Comefromaway it was amazing! I’d waited 35 years to see her live. Hope you have a good time.

Sounds great, OP, I always book seated as you can't get out of the crush standing very easily. I tried Jude but it made things worse not better. Their customer service was very good though and they refunded the second bottle I'd got.

theferry · 18/05/2025 18:50

@Wakemeupbe4yougogo that’s a shame, but glad they refunded. It’s not cheap!
