Is this week a really cheap time to go away?

I am trying to figure out why the rentals hitting my inbox have dropped by about 75% but as school just recently started, I can’t figure it out.

So I am wondering if this week is a particularly cheap week for holidays abroad or something?

I suspect it might be. I know a lot of people who are away at the moment. People who want to avoid the school holidays yet make the most of the weather in the Med while it is still warm.

Depends where. Schools are back, weather isn't guaranteed in a lot of Europe and start shutting down.

Depends where you're going. September is still quite busy in places like Greece where it's still warm and everyone who has waited till after the school holidays is there. But elsewhere it's off-season already.

Lots of my friends are away at the moment (50s &60s) we have all worked through the Summer while people with children at school have taken their holidays. Still hot in Turkey, Eastern Greek islands, Cyprus and Malta and half the price it was - everything open still.

Yes, sorry, that's what I meant by people avoiding school holidays.

DD is off to Greece this week. She doen't have children and doesn't want to pay premium prices.

Do you own a holiday rental property in the UK?

I'm going to the US this week as the fares are really cheap this month.

No, I am just desperately looking for a new house to move to. We have been looking for 7 weeks now, and up until Friday the new rentals coming in were steady. It’s dropped off a cliff edge in the last two days and I am panicking! I have never looked in September before so I am not familiar with the rental market at this time of year.
