Do you even hide stupid things you do from you partner?

I am very forgetful and often do stupid things. Sometimes, I'm able to undo the stupid things before I am discovered. This is partly so I don't worry my partner, but also I already do enough stupid things of which she's aware.

I am not talking about breaking something and not telling her - only things I can entirely fix.

I do wonder sometimes if I ought to just tell her all the stupid things I've done and corrected.

For example, when I was on holiday, I went in the sea with my rental car keys. I made an excuse, went for a walk and then tried the keys. To my astonishment, they worked. I did not tell her.

Is it just me?

I imagine there will be others.

For me though being able to laugh at the daft things each of us do is part of being in a healthy relationship so I find it odd you're not able to share these things

Yes but my husband is ridiculously uptight

If I can't hide it or deny it (plausible deniability) I immediately own up.

I do stupid things all the time but mostly I can’t be bothered to hide them. Or I need him to help me fix them. I’m clumsy.

I tell dh but usually after I’ve sorted out whatever problem I’ve created. It’s a relief to unmask and frankly if he can’t handle the truth that’s his problem.

I’ve done this a couple of times and she has laughed and called me stupid in an affectionate way. Maybe I should be more brave!
