Stupid question about new trainers

I developed hip pain from running, did physio, exercises etc and stopped running and it’s gone away. I’ve just bought some new exercise trainers (not for running) to replace my old, knackered ones and trying them on round the house my hip and leg is quite uncomfortable, borderline painful. Is it just because of the change in the muscles I’m using to walk as they have better support and it’ll settle down or are they not the right shoes for me?

It could be either... Did you buy on the basis of any advice (re fit etc)? Seems odd that your new exercise trainers would have an issue - what do you wear on your feet normally (as in day to day, not for exercise)?

What are the new trainers that you've bought?

These are the ones I’ve bought, they were quite similar to my old ones. I’d wear the old trainers for walking around a lot as well as exercise. Otherwise Birkenstocks or more fashion trainers in summer or flat boots when it’s cold.

No I didn’t get advice but I think I probably will do now.
