Pocket money for Y13 DD

I haven't given DD17 any pocket money for over two years because she had a part time job. She's quit now to focus on her a levels. How much money should I give her for pocket money? I know this depends on what I can afford, what the pocket money is meant to cover, etc, but typically, what would someone this age get?

For just personal spends I match what is recommended for a child in foster care, so £10 a week for a 17 year old. I cover everything else and expect DD to take lunch from home or to buy her own coffee/meal deals out of her personal money.

She gets money at birthdays and Christmas too that sees her through.

My DD 17 has also worked for a year and she still gets £70 a month which her siblings also get who do not work so stopping her pocketmoney would have been very unfair

Her pocket money goes towards school food and travel and basic stuff

I give mine the same as their age. So £12 a week for my 12 year old.

I gave mine 75 a month allowance. Meant she could go out once a week and buy bits and pieces, which I feel is a minimum for someone who is studying hard.

My ds is 15 so doesn’t have a job yet and I transfer him £50 to his current account every four weeks and £30 to his savings (which he can’t access without an adult) and pay for phone, gym membership and school lunches. Sometimes I think he does ok, other times I think that’s not really very much. He’s always out and about but mainly organised activities through clubs etc which will probably change as he gets older. What do your dc mainly spend their pocket money on?

Thanks everyone. We've gone for £75 a month. I buy her clothes, shoes, toiletries, books, etc. She very rarely goes out. I think she likes saving her money and will spend it on the odd concert.

DS gets £50 every 4 weeks to spend and £50 into savings. I pay for his gym and phone which is £40 and Toiletries (Deodorant, face wash and moisturiser)

He rarely spends money. I think so far this year he has spent about £150

He buys us a birthday card and a Christmas card, presents for both and fathers and mothers day too.

He's 16
