Started a new job teaching/ training IT courses for adults a few months ago. I've just had a meeting to set my objectives and the one thing that has been spoken about is that I'm too quiet in team meetings. No worries about my actual teaching, students love me, high exam pass rate, excellent observations.
We have a team of around 12. I'm the only female and the men are loud opinionated and talk over each other.
As I'm new I haven't had much to input as I didn't know how things worked. We meet every month.
How can I get my voice heard?

That's not a you problem, that's a meeting chair problem.

He can't control them either. Which doesn't help as its his objectives for me.
He suggested 'raising my hand on teams' which will just be ignored.

Push it back to him - how does he suggest you meet this objective? Ask him how this objective meets the SMART criteria. It's as useful as a chocolate fire guard to say "you are too quiet in team meetings" without actually pinning down how he would like to see this rectified.

Can you not add something to the agenda if you have something to say?

As the chair he shouldn't ignore a raised hand. He needs to refresh the groups ways of working and expectations of online communication and enforce it by muting everyone if necessary

I agree. It's the only thing keeping me from meeting my objectives early and passing probation early. I have 2 team meetings till the end of the probation period.
