Typed out a whole reply to a thread that’s gone poof but thought why should the typing go to waste😁, and would be fun to find out the variety of proposals people have experienced. Here’s mine.
DH and I have been married decades. There was no grand proposal or down on one knee(I would have thought he tripped or something and went to help him up and that would have ended as a complete debacle). Instead, we were watching tv, and trying to coordinate work diaries/possibilities for leave the following year to see if we could try and get some at the same time, and wondering if there was anything we needed leave for - such as more major house reno bits or something. One of us, and now we both have no idea which one of us, said if we got married we might need time for a honeymoon so we decided to pencil that in. We both then said, does this mean we are engaged, and pretty much agreed that was a yes. We do remember all of this happened in an ad break as opposed to during the show🤣.
Never had a ring as I couldn’t have worn it at work so pointless. I would have been taking it off/putting it on and chances are it would have become lost so not having one was one less thing to bother about.
