Hi, whitstlestop tour! I'm nearly 34, DD1 IVF in 2019 due to unexplained infertility, DD2 in 2020 naturally, both c sections. I have a tilted cervix and smears are horrendous so I go to colposcopy for them because it's that far back. I have been on the pill for about 12 years but came off it because it was giving me breast lumps so GP advised I swap to something else. Went on the depo after DD2 and then came off the depo last year after 3 years on it (no periods while on it) because it went from being amazing to giving me horrific mood swings, weight gain, dryness etc. After my smear at the end of July this year (which came back clear), I've had light pink spotting after finishing my period every day intermittently, then nothing at all during ovulation week for 7 days, then spotting again until my next period. The day after finishing my last period, I also had one episode of bright red bleeding after sex which has never happened before and panicked me to the core. The day after that, it was back to the light pink spotting. Have had sex three times since and no bright red at all.
My GP has referred me for an ultrasound because I have horrific health anxiety, but said he doesn't think there is anything to worry about, he said that the depo especially can cause a lot of cycle problems when coming off it that can start at any point. He also said that because I'm older now, I will be having more body changes that I did when I first started on contraception. He asked when DM went through the menopause and I said 40s because she didn't have me until she was 36. He and a nurse I saw both think it could be an ectropian.
Has anyone had anything similar in terms of no spotting at all during ovulation week, but spotting before and after period?
