I had a bite and a bulls eye rash maybe 20 years ago?

never was tested but have always suffered with tiredness and aches ten years ago diagnosed with thyroid issues. I have a nagging thought back to that rash everyone so often.,,, would it be worth having a test now, all these years later?

Bumping this for you again OP, I'm wondering the same thing about myself. Maybe someone will have some insights to share...

My neighbour was tested for it recently, just in case it was causing some symptoms that the doctor couldn't find a cause for. I think she was negative. However we get lots of ticks in this area (Purbeck) and were once the highest area for the disease in the UK so our local GPs do watch out for it.

My next door neighbour had it years back, before it was so common. She got dreadful pains in her joints and her GP referred her to a rheumatologist. It was the rheumatologist who suggested she got tested for Lyme's. After a long, long course of antibiotics she was fine.
If you are worried I suggest you ask to be tested.

My friend was, not sure what the time frame was, but she was having chronic symptoms, a treat was run and she had the anti bodies, so the conclusion was she'd had it and that was likely the cause of her issues.
