I’ve had a lovely flex day today but I’m already starting to get a knot in my stomach at the thought of going of going back tomorrow.
Colleague is extremely money orientated and materialistic and talks incessantly about those two topics. I mean absolutely non stop, all day every day.
She has to tell you how much everything costs, or where it’s from. In a conversation about a time when her mum took seriously ill while at her (colleague’s) house, she managed to mention what type of flooring she had, how much her sofa cost and where she bought her “stunning” coffee table! She can be incredibly snobbish as well - she can’t believe that her neighbour can afford to live in a detached new build as she only works in a supermarket and used to live in a council house. It’s just so shallow and draining.
We’re a very small team with no working from home so there really is no escaping it. The thought of having to listen to her drone on, or show us photos of her wedding 15 years ago or the grey interior of her home for the 100th time just makes me want to run away.
I am actively looking for a new job just fyi but sometimes you just need to vent
