Apparently I'm a millionaire

Which goes to show its nothing special anymore?

I live in the SE, in house I bought 20 years ago, have been employed all my life, but in fairly ordinary lower/middle management jobs and have the pension schemes that go along side them, plus some savings.

My current household income is c. £45k, which I live very comfortably on, but definitely not "like a millionaire"

And yet apparently I am, as my net assets are £1m+

@ThisOldThang I said it’s not an out there concept that people want to live in their communities & it’s why some housing prioritises locals, people campaign against 2nd homes, councils moving people out etc. it is a thing whether you think it’s entitled or not. Whether Tarquin in Kensington is less deserving of sympathy than X in Cornwall isn’t relevant to that point.

Lambeth includes Clapham, Balham, parts of Dulwich…

Owning a £1m home is an immense privilege. You know the worst that can happen is to down size or move to a cheaper area with a massive chunk of change left over.

@Mirabai I know Lambeth & what it includes. I’m not sure what your point is? My point was you can buy a 4 bed for less than 2m in many parts of inner London boroughs. You seem to have focused on the very expensive areas only which isn’t all of inner London but I guess some people don’t know it very well. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Who said you couldn’t buy a 4 bed for less than 2 million? Oh right - no-one.

Born and bred (inner) Londoner - so trying to imply I’m unfamiliar is a non-starter.
